This turned out worse than I expected.

I thought it might be something like this, but it was worse than I thought it would be. Lord have mercy on them all! Especially the victims.

Dropping the word "investigation" towards the end of the mollifing sermonette yesterday was when I knew the next shoe to drop was not going to be pleasant. He had me convinced right up to that word.

Of course, I'm not sure why care for sister and mother is something any religious employer should really take into account when said employee took monastic vows.

Life was much simpler when we could just presume the guy simply lacked the temperament for the job and therefore stepped down at the request of the other bishops.

I can't help but feel somewhat impressed by the integrity of the Synod. Maybe that's saying more about low expectations from comparable issues elsewhere, but all the same good to see bishops thinking like bishops.

Met Jonah was forced to resign. The Synod was
just waiting to find a false charge to humiliate
him more. They do not want their cozy little
nests changed, nor their salaries smaller.

Met Jonah had a much lesser salary than you think.
The Synod did not like a strong leader with new ideas to save the church. They thought they could manipulate them to cover their greed. So they used tactics to break him down in every way they could.
Believe the statement-not on your life. They forbid Jonah to speak his side.
I am too close to reveal my name for fear of more retaliation.
